About Us

We founded the Heir Johnson Family Foundation because we’ve lived the realities of mental health challenges and substance use within our own families and communities. We understand how overwhelming it can be to seek help — especially when you’re low‑income, facing homelessness, or trying to navigate a system full of red tape, long waitlists, and confusing requirements.

We created this foundation to be the opposite of that experience.

We believe immediate, short‑term support can be the difference between someone falling through the cracks and someone finding stability. Our firsthand experiences taught us that people in crisis don’t need judgment — they need someone who will show up, cut through barriers, and walk with them toward safety and recovery.
